An up-and-coming young conductor and versatile arts advocate, Ryo Hasegawa ****currently serves as a conductor of the Charleston Symphony Youth Orchestra, Assistant Conductor of the Peabody Symphony Orchestra, and Chair & Founder of Mudita Corporation, and will be the Music Director of the Bloomington Symphony Orchestra (Indiana) starting in the Summer of 2024. Under the mentorship of the world-renowned conductor, Marin Alsop, Hasegawa has performed at numerous concerts in the U.S., Europe, and Asia and launched several projects to promote interdisciplinary collaborations and advocate diversity in music and art education.
Subin Cho holds a Bachelor of Music in Flute Performance from the Peabody Conservatory having studied under Marina Piccinini and she will be studying under Robert Langevin starting this Fall at the Juilliard School . She started playing the flute when she was 10 and studied with Monica Song for8 years and Won Lee from 4 years. Her individual achievements include performing at Carnegie Hall as a Grand Prize Winner of Concert Artists "VIRTUOSO* International Competition and appearing on From the Top on NPR. She has received several awards including From the Top's Jack Kent Cooke Young Artist Award; Winner of 2023 Yamaha Young Performing Artist, First Place Winner of Donna Marie Haire Young Artist Competition; Grand Prize Winner of the Dallas Symphonic Festival Senior Concerto Competition; and Winner of MTNA National Senior Woodwind Competition in the Texas and South Central Divisions, and National.
Clarinetist Joelle Wong is an up-and-coming orchestral performer, with a particular interest in auxiliary E-flat clarinet. A California native, Joelle has performed in various ensembles across the country, from orchestras to opera pits. Along with playing in several ensembles of different sizes and orchestrations, they have also premiered two chamber pieces this year. In 2022, they received their Bachelor of Music in Clarinet Performance from the Boston University College of Fine Arts. This May, Joelle will graduate with their Master’s in Clarinet Performance from the Peabody Institute of the Johns Hopkins University.
Clarinetist Juho Chae started clarinet in a middle school, and he graduate The Kaywon Art High school and Dan Kook University in B.M. Now, he in a student at the Peabody institute as M.M. And he performed Dan Kook wind orchestra as a solo player, principal clarinetist in Dan kook symphony orchestra, guest member of KBS symphony orchestra and Seoul Symphonic Wind orchestra.
A passionate young violinist Sumin Lee has performed as a soloist, orchestra musician, and chamber musician at Carnegie Hall, Kennedy Center, Lotte Concert Hall, Moscow Conservatory and many other places. Sumin is the 1st prize winner of the Peabody Conservatory Marbury Prize String Competition and got a full fellowship from the Aspen Music Festival this year. Originally from Seoul, Korea, Sumin is pursuing her bachelor of music degree under Mr. Herbert Greenberg and serving with annual and multiple scholarships at Peabody Conservatory of Music.
Known for weaving sincere and raw forms of music to soothe the audience's heart, Ganguk "Karl" Lee is a USA-based percussionist hailing from Korea. He has performed various works by Toru Takemitsu, Peter Klatzow, Thierry De Mey, Juri Seo, Mark Applebaum, Keiko Abe, and many more composers in places such as Yellowbarn, Miriam Friedberg Hall, New York University, Tanglewood Festival, and more. He also presented his performance as a timpanist and percussionist for the Boise Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. With this ensemble, he performed works by Tchaikovsky, Shostakovich, Sibelius, Beethoven, Holst, and many more. Ganguk is pursuing his B.M. in percussion performance at the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins, where he studies with Robert Van Sice.
